Earlier this month our school was invited to the grand opening of the new North Tyneside Area Command Headquarters.  The previous year, three children went along to bury a time capsule before lots of the building work had begun and then for the opening the children were invited back to see what the station was like inside.  First of all we all went to the official opening of the station with the acting Temporary Chief Constable of Police for Northumbria, Sue Sim.

We then toured around inside the station and saw where people will work. There are 40 cells and we even had a chance to go into them!!

There are lots of green features including solar panels, guttering to harvest rainwater to reuse for flushing the toilets and a bio mass boiler for the heating.
