In September we travelled to France for a week of cultural and historical learning opportunities in a collaborative partnership with our Fordley friends.

We had an absolutely fantastic time! We visited the site of the Normandy landings in Aromanches which was extremely educational as well as poignant. We also visited a traditional boulangerie where we made our own bread as well as a cider farm to see the process of apples turned into apple juice and cider, delicious!

Our visit to Bayeux and the Bayeux tapestry was fantastic and we felt so lucky to be able to view this world renowned spectacle for ourselves.

We then spent a wonderful day in Paris where we enjoyed a river boat up the Sienne to take in some of the most famous landmarks in Paris. This was followed by lunch in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower before heading off to visit the Arch de Triomphe.

To finish our week we headed to Disneyland Paris for a day of putting into practice the speaking and listening skills in French that we had picked up throughout the week.

All in all we had a fantastic time and we can’t wait to go back in two years’ time
