Mr Rusby’s Year 2 Giraffe Class played at Santa by buying presents to be sent to Africa’s poorest communities, through the charity Oxfam.

The kind-hearted youngsters bought two chickens, which will help make families self-sustaining - as they can eat and sell their eggs - as well as produce chicks to help other families in their villages.  They also chose a mosquito net to help prevent the spread of lethal disease Malaria.

The jolly group of six and seven year olds raised £27 through donations for decorating their own Christmas biscuits, decided to buy the chickens and potentially life-saving net  as part of their ‘Giraffes Giving Generously’ campaign.
