Viva La France

Wow! What a multi-cultural start to the year at Hadrian Park Primary School.  The whole of Key Stage 2 have taken part in an Expo Chef activity day cooking and tasting recipes from Spain, Poland, France and Turkey.  The children really enjoyed the cooking and tasting and shared their experience with the whole school in an interactive assembly.

Key Stage 1 have been engaged in lots of fun Italian activities through a programme called Ciao Bimbi. They had a really exciting morning and had lots of fun whilst learning some key Italian words and phrases.

Last week 19 of our year 5 and 6 children visited Normandy in France as part of their studies learning about other cultures and countries. They joined in the visit with children from Fordley Primary School, staying in a French Chateau and all children were a credit to their schools.  The children enjoyed activities such as learning how apple juice and cider was made and making fresh bread at a boulangerie. They also visited the Bayeux Tapestry, found out about the Normandy landings and visited Paris. The week was rounded off with a very exciting day in Disneyland Paris.

They can’t wait to share their experiences with their friends back at school, who were also doing lots of French activities during the week.
